MAGIC MORNING COFFEE

My Magic Magic morning coffee has evolved many times. Of course, as my morning ritual has too. I remember the first time I tried a "butter-coffee" when I was living in Byron bay, soon it spread and I could order one at Roadhouse, Folk and Jing Organics! I soon learnt, this was what was being called a "Bullet-Proof" coffee in the USA. At first, a weird concept, quickly changed by the wonderful flavour and feeling of this blended warm combination of Butter, Coconut oil, Black coffee and usually a pinch of cinnamon. But wait, there is a science to this strangeness!

Now, this is not sponsored, I am simply explain how, where and why I got the idea to put butter in my coffee, before you go thinking - this girl is crazy!

"In 2011, Bulletproof founder Dave Asprey introduced Bulletproof Coffee: a blend of coffee, MCT oil and grass-fed butter. It embraced quality fats for sustained energy—and challenged everything we knew about nutrition." - bulletproof.com explains the science behind it all here.

But in short, The concept is, starting your day high quality fats for fuel, nutrients. It is important to get Good quality, Grass-fed, organic, fresh or local ingredients to fuel your body and mind. You do NOT want to be blending feedlot margarine in your coffee.

A Good quality Grass-fed Butter or Ghee(less lactose) contains vitamin A, beta-carotene, and the fatty acid CLA. While the MCT contains oil highly ketogenic C8 MCTs, these oils are more effective than plain coconut oil at raising your ketone levels. Ketone levels help your body and brain to use fats for fuel instead of sugar. This is what gives the effect of sustained energy without the coffee crash. When blended, these ingredients create a beautiful smooth, creamy, milky texture in your black coffee, without adding milk or alternatives! P.S if you are vegan you can skip the Butter/Ghee and just use MCT- it still works!

First, get familiar with the bean. Learn about and find the best beans possible. Choose single-origin, small-batch beans. You can go all out and find ethically farmed beans, or beans that are tested for toxins

Enough of that, Here are 3 of my favourite Magic Mimi Coffee Combinations! Pick whichever you fancy and follow the instructions below.
